It uses a combination of naturally occurring micro-organisms and their enzymes to digest uric acid crystals (which produces urine's pungent aroma) as well as urea (the sticky substance in urine) and proteins (which promote pathogen growth).
It also acts to break down pheromones to discourage any further accidents from occurring in the same spot.
With the source of the odour and the stain removed, the problem is solved. Urine Off has a pleasant citrus fragrance and even that disappears when the product dries.
